Fisker EV battery promises 500 miles of range in one minute of charging!

FISKER has filed a patent for solid-stat batteries which could offer huge range and rapid charge times that could actually make EVs a credible replacement to petrol and diesel cars.

Fisker could have cracked the electric car with a new patent that details credible petrol/diesel rival.
The patent is for solid-state batteries with 500+ miles of and and one minute recharging times.

It is aiming to produce these solid-state lithium ion batteries in mass by 2023, with cars using them expected to hit the road by 2024.

This is because of the complicated nature of developing them to market which would require new staff, processes and infrastructure to be able to mass manufacturer them.

Sold-state batteries provide a number of advantages over current lithium-ion batteries used in modern day phones, laptops etc.
Firstly they have greater energy density, therefore they can offer more power, and rapid charging times.

Fisker claimed the energy density of the batteries they are creating have 2.5 times the density of current batteries on the market and can be recharged in one minute.

nother benefit would be that they perform better in colder weather.

While these mighty solid-state batteries are still a number of years away the car manufacturer’s E Motion electric car will be launched at CES 2018 in January.
